Underwire Bras also known as under wire bras, are brassieres with a wire built into the underside of the bra cups that lift, separate and shape the breast while providing the woman with additional breast support. The underwire is typically a thin semi-circular strip of rigid material that is usually metal or plastic and is sewn into the underside of each cup.

Underwire Bras can be found in virtually all styles and designs of bras and are often sewn into formed clothing such as bathing suit tops or molded jerseys.

Although there are many visual advantages to wearing Underwire Bras it should be noted that when passing through metal detectors, the metal strip could set off a sensitive sydtem causing the wearer inconvenience and perhaps embarrassment.

It should also be noted that when Underwire Bras age, the fabric deteriorates and on occasion, the metal or plastic wire, will rupture from the material and could cause injury.

Nevertheless, there are nothing like Underwire Bras to give the finish and definition of the breasts and if you keep your bra wardrobe fresh and replace the Underwire Bras that are looking worn, you will always look spectacular; and, that is what Underwire Bras are for.
